The most useful message you can send is a correction. This site publishes 12V electrical arithmetic for an audience that can check the working, and an error in an ampacity figure, a voltage drop calculation or a fuse rating is a fire risk rather than merely an embarrassment. If you find one, tell us and we will fix it and say what changed.

What we cannot help with
There is a firm line here, and it exists for practical reasons rather than legal ones.
- Designing or signing off your system. We will not specify your cable runs, approve your fusing plan or tell you that a finished install is safe. We cannot see the vehicle, and a 12V lithium system that is wrong is a fire in a space people sleep in. That is a job for a qualified installer with the vehicle in front of them.
- Alternator and vehicle wiring advice specific to your model. Charging systems, smart alternators and factory wiring vary enormously between models and years. Your workshop manual and your dealer are the correct sources.
- Anything about home backup power. This site is about living off-grid from a vehicle. Home outage planning is a genuinely different problem with different products and different standards, and we are not the right place for it.
Before you write, these pages may answer it
Most questions we receive are answered on one of four pages. If you are sizing a system, the battery bank calculator and the battery sizing guide cover it. How we handle what you send
Your message goes to one inbox and nowhere else. It is not added to a mailing list, it is not passed to a brand, and it is not used to build any kind of profile. If you send a correction and we publish the fix, we will credit you by name only if you ask us to. Read the full policy on the privacy policy page.
If your message is about a product you make or sell, say so plainly. We do not treat brand messages worse than reader messages, and a manufacturer correcting their own published specification is one of the most useful things that lands in the inbox. What we will not do is change a ranking because of one, and the terms of that are on the affiliate disclosure page.

How do I report an error in the electrical figures on this site?

Will you design my 12V system for me?
No, and the reason is not legal caution. A system design depends on the vehicle, the alternator, the climate, the payload and how you actually travel, none of which we can see. What we will do is point you at the calculator or build page that covers your situation, and tell you plainly when the honest answer is that a smaller system is enough. For a finished install, use a qualified installer who can inspect the vehicle.
Do you accept sponsored posts or paid placements in roundups?
No paid placements and no payment in exchange for a position in a roundup. We use affiliate links, which are disclosed on every page and on the affiliate disclosure page, and which pay the same commission regardless of which product a reader buys. Brands are welcome to send corrections about their own published specifications, and those are treated exactly like any other correction.
Can I use your charts or calculators on my own site?
Quote a figure with a link back and that is fine. Copying a chart wholesale or embedding a calculator is not, both because it is our work and because the ampacity and fusing tables carry safety context that does not travel with a copied table. If you want to reference something in a training or club context, get in touch and say what you need, and the answer is usually yes.
A price on this site is wrong. Does that matter?
Tell us anyway. Prices move constantly and every page says so, but a price that is badly out of date makes a build total misleading, and the build totals are the reason those pages exist. Send the page address and what you actually see on the listing. Product specification errors matter more, so if a capacity, a cycle rating or an inverter figure is wrong, link the manufacturer documentation.
How quickly do you reply?
This is a small site, so allow several days for general enquiries. Corrections to electrical figures are handled first and usually much faster. If you do not hear back, check your spam folder, because replies from a small personal domain get filtered more often than they should. Sending twice is fine and we would rather have the correction twice than not at all.
How we choose: we compare published manufacturer specifications, standards documents including ABYC E-11, and verified owner reviews. We do not test gear in person.
